Spring/Summer 2010
From the Priest-in-Charge
Submitted by Rev. Cassandra Burton
The glorious days of spring are upon us. Holy Week was truly memorable. Palm Sunday began with the skies slightly overcast, but “HOWARD” and Snowbell helped us to wave our palms as we re-created Christ’s journey into Jerusalem. The Donkey Committee did an outstanding
job of transporting our animals and keeping them moving. Watching Brenda Hann coaching Howard along with carrots was a priceless sight. Dave Jackson went down to the farm to help Bruce Davis load the animals was an invaluable gift of love to our parish. Our children dressed in period costumes once again stopped traffic on Old Branch Ave. as they walked with the animals. What a statement our parishioners made as they waved their palms in front of Christ Church. It was a joyous day. All of our Holy Week services were well attended.

Our Annual Easter Sunrise Service was spectacular thanks to the many who made the commitment to be at church at 5 AM! The weather was ideal, not cold this year. The trumpets helped us announce that Christ had risen. Many have remarked how this has become their favorite service. Only by having an incredible team to help behind the scenes could we have had this many services. Everyone, including Mark and Bill who took charge of the fire pit so that our first fire was spectacular, were as important as those serving on the altar that morning. Many pulled extra chairs to accommodate the larger than expected number of
people; everyone just did what ever needed to be done. The Beck Family “Five Star”
breakfast after the service was fantastic.

At the 9AM service we welcomed the five new persons who were Baptized:

♦ Giselle Aminashaun
♦ Kimberly Orrison
♦ Christopher N. Orrison
♦ James J. Morgan
♦ Christopher J. Orrison

Easter Pageant
The children’s Easter pageant was excellent. Great credit goes to the adults who have been faithfully working with our young people, especially Joann Appold and Sharon Hudson. The liturgical dance choreographed by
Rachel Appold, who aspires to be a professional dancer, was well done by our dancers

Web Site
Our web site continues to be updated. Make sure you check out what’s happening at Christ Church www.christchurchclinton.org

Choir
Our choir is still growing; and, is doing an outstanding job of offering their gift of music. The Children’s choir continues to rehearse every
Saturday from 10:30-12 with Mr. Nolan. They
sang on May 16th and appreciated your support
by attending the service.

Dedication of recovered Altar Cushions      Christ Church has been blessed by the
talents of Rosemary Greenaway who has recovered our altar cushions. This gift by Rosemary and her father Joseph were given in memory of her mother and his wife Brucel Greenaway, a dedicated church worker.
On Beads of Prayer Ministry
This powerful ministry has faithfully been making prayer beads to send to our troops in harm’s way. This ministry continues to grow if
you are interested in learning how to bead see Alice Dove.

Soaking Prayer
We now have a group involved
in praying for persons on a daily basis as they experience God’s presence in their lives. See Jan Selbo if you would like to be a part
of this ministry.

Christ Church Summer Day Camp
Registrations for our summer day camp are now being taken. Scholarship help is available for the children of Christ Church. The theme for the summer is “I am a child of God.”
