On Sunday, June 18, we celebrated all who are or have been father figures in our lives, with a special for photos to be blessed.
In addition, The Right Reverend Mariann Budde, Bishop of the Diocese of Washington DC, made a pastoral visit to worship and fellowship with us. A great time was had by all!
Our children’s choir came and sang for us during the service, and it was delightful!
At the end of our Sunday School year, we have a big picnic. Folks contribute side dishes and desserts, and the rest is provided. We have games for all ages, including an egg toss, bobbing for apples, relay races and a cake walk.

The Sunday after Easter traditionally has low attendance. To encourage people to come to church on that day, we have a Holy Humor Service, which has a fun theme that is used during the service and the coffee hour that follows. This year our theme was SOAK UP THE SUN (SON) – a trip to the beach!
We honored mothers, living and in heaven, and all those mother figures in our lives. Photos were added to a table in the sacristy and then blessed them during the service.
Afterward, we had a lovely Mother’s Day Tea, and even the children had their own tea party!
Our beloved Pancake Dinner, missing for two years, has returned at last! It was held on February 21st and our guests were glad to be back; a dedicated team made it a successful night.
On February 12, 2023 we celebrated a high tea with soups, finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts, for a wonderful time of fellowship.
On January 22, 2023, we installed both returning and newly elected vestry members as they began their service to Christ Church for 2023.
