Spaghetti Dinner 11-08-25
Our final spaghetti dinner of 2025 was enjoyed by all. Many folks were already asking about next year, 2026, and yes – we will be back!
All Saints Sunday 11/02/2025
The church had special prayers and blessings for those who have gone to be with our Lord. It was a beautiful and poignant time in our worship.
Jazz Concert 10/19/2025 Sandra Y. Johnson & Friends
We had a full house to celebrate Sandra Y. Johnson’s birthday, and all birthdays in October.  It was a day to remember, with terrific music, good food and folks to share it with. Sandra Y. Johnson had the crowd clapping, singing and dancing!
150th Anniversary Community Day
Saturday, Oct 4, 2025, was as perfect a day as we could have hoped for. Our parking lot was filled with vendors, games, a face painter, good food, great music and sweet treats. We even had a fire truck! Folks of all ages stopped by to check out the displays. Our Food Pantry gave out free bags of food, and our Thrift Shop was open as well. We give thanks to God for successful event.
Jazz Concert 09/21/25 Jason Walker and the Vibe Collective
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the church hall was filled with the Latin-inspired Jazz of Jason Walker and the Vibe Collective. Great music and good food mead fora wonderful evening.
Blessing (and delivery) of the Backpacks
One of our community projects is to collect backpacks and school supplies to help children in need. Donations are given to Clinton Grove Elementary School in our neighborhood. In 2025, we were able to fill 16 backpacks, with 4 bags of supplies left over. The school was delighted to receive our contribution.
Healing Service September 7, 2025
On the first Sunday of each month, we have a special service of healing with the laying on of hands. You may come forward for yourself, or stand in as proxy for another. It truly is a very powerful service.
Installation of 6th Rector, The. Rev. Creamilda Yoda 08-17-25
It was a proud and joyful occasion as we celebrated the Installation Service for our 6th Rector, The Reverend Creamilda Shirley Wulck-Nortey Yoda. THe Bishop of Washington, The Right Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde presided as celebrant, and The Rev. Dr. Gayle Fisher-Stewart preached an inspiring message. We look forward to many more good things to come.
150th Anniversary Program and Celebration
Christ Church turned 150 years old on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Our own talented choir was joined by the St. Thomas Episcopal Church choir, the St. James Community Choir, Ms. Phyllis Bolden, Mr. Prentiss David Ervin (Ebenezer United Methodist Church), and Ms. Lynnea McGee (Resurrection Baptist Church) . Our guest speaker was The Reverend Shayna Watson, Priest-in-Charge, Trinity Church. It was a spirit-filled evening of praise and celebration.
Jazz Concert – Tony Craddock, Jr. 06-22-25
We were blessed with the smooth jazz of Tony Craddock, Jr., Tony Chan, and Eric Perez. It was a special evening of music and fellowship.
