Holy Humor Sunday at CEC 04-12-26

The Sunday after Easter tends to be low in attendance so we at Christ Church have been having o Holy Humor Service on that Sunday. Our theme for 2026 was a 1970’s Party, and we all got our groove on as we took a trip back in time.  Outfits, decorations, and refreshments all gave a nod to that wild and crazy decade of the 1970’s.

CEC Easter Festive Eucharist Service, 9:00 am 04-05-26

Our grand and festive Easter Eucharist Worship Service was filled with wonderful music and praise of our Risen Lord. It was a marvelous celebration of Christ’s triumph over death.  The celebration continued with fellowship and refreshments in the parish hall.

CEC Easter Vigil service, 6:00 am 04-05-26

Christ Church began its Easter Morning in the dark,at 6:00 am, for our Easter Vigil. After lighting the Paschal Candle, from which all other candles were lit, we processed into the sanctuary where the vigil service continued.  The service was followed by a delicious, hearty breakfast.

CEC Good Friday Service with the Stations of the Cross 04-03-26

Christ Church held a moving Good Friday service which included the Stations of the Cross.  It was a  powerful witness to Jesus’s final walk and crucifixion.

CEC Maundy Thursday Service with Foot Washing 04-02-26

On Maundy Thursday, the worship service at Christ Church included a foot washing ceremony, in remembrance of Jesus’s washing of the feet of his disciples.

Clergy Renewal of Vows 03-31-26

Our Rector, The Rev. Creamilda Yoda, participated in the service of the Annual Renewal of Vows for  clergy in the Diocese of Washington.  It was held at the beautiful Episcopal National Cathedral in Washington DC. Also attending was our Senior Warden, Gail Russell.

Palm Sunday 03-29-26

We gathered outside on a bright but chilly morning for the Blessing of the Palms, and then had the grand procession into the church.  It was a wonderful day to praise the Lord and remember His sacrifice with thanksgiving.

CEC Vestry Retreat, 03-28-26

Vestry members gathered away from the church and other distractions for a time of learning and prayer, seeking a deeper relationship with God.  We enjoyed the laughter and  fellowship of our time together.

Rev. Creamilda Yoda’s Birthday, 1st Sun in Lent 02-22-2026

It was the first Sunday in Lent, and during our service we reflected on the Lenten disciplines of fasting, prayer, confession and forgiveness. Then we moved to the parish hall to celebrate the birthday of out Rector, Rev. Creamilda Yoda in grand fashion. It was a joyous and festive time of fellowship.

Ash Wednesday 02-18-26

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the penitential season of Lent. We held our Ash Wednesday service at 12:00 noon, with the imposition of ashes in the shape of a cross on the forehead. It was a deeply moving experience.
